Processor Baru Intel...

2-3 hari lepas ada kluar artikel pasal processor baru intel yang sedang hangat dipromosikan kat Plaza Low Yat, KL. Menarik tul teknik iklan dia. Processor ni didakwa kononnya sebagai "The Fastest Processor on Earth!" (ya ka...)

The "Fastest Processor on the Planet", the Intel Core i7 processor, officially landed on Malaysian soil yesterday (20Nov08). Broadly heralded by the computing industry as a technical marvel, the Intel Core i7 processor holds the new world record of 117 for the SPECint_base_rate2006 benchmark test that measures the performance of a processor. This is the first time ever for any single processor to exceed a score of 100 points.

Available in two "flavors" - the Intel Core i7 and the Intel Core i7 Extreme - these quad core, eight thread processors promise up to 40% increase in performance for various heavy duty computing tasks such as video editing (apply changes/effects and review them on the fly without the need for rendering), and gaming (play Crysis on a three monitor setup at highest quality without lagging) as compared to previous quad core processors (Intel Core 2 Extreme).
The Intel Core i7 processors are on sale now and range from US$284 to US$999. For more information on the Intel Core i7, visit the Intel Website at www.intel.com/products/desktop/processors.

OLPC - Setiap Kanak-kanak Sebuah Laptop ?

Memang bagus projek OLPC - One Laptop PerChildren ni. Tapi... projek ni berjalan kat beberapa negara terpilih saja, tak termasuk Malaysia.

Virtual Ball Pit from Kevin Atkinson on Vimeo.

Mamat yang buat ni, Kevin Atkinson (budak Kanada) sebenarnya seorang programmer grafik. Dia buat ni sekadar suka-suka je asalnya. Program yang dibuat ni sebenarnya guna beberapa komponen: C++, OpenCV (Open Source Computer Vision - realtime computer vision library), dan Chipmunk (2D physics library). Hasilnya...
